Hope Ranch was purchased by a man named Thomas Hope in the mid 1800s. Encompassing 1,863 acres between Highway 101 and the coastline, residents of Hope Ranch enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather while surrounded by a tranquil and relaxing environment. Approximately 700 homes are within the Hope Ranch area, most placed on top of rolling hills or situated within large estates. Nearly all of the homes in Hope Ranch are positioned on top of hills, with beautiful ocean views.

Those interested in the Hope Ranch Riding Trails Association are privileged to enjoy a private beach, polo field, tennis courts, and soccer fields. The La Cumbre Country Club also enjoys private golfing around the Laguna Blanca. Many others in the area can appreciate the gentle hills, which serve as a great place for bicycle ridings and ocean viewings. Some of Hope Ranch’s better-known residents include Snoop Dogg, Fess Parker, Vera Ralson, and Wendy McCaw.​
